Expressions Film Studio is Closing After Summer

This is a tough announcement to make, but after much reflection, I have decided that this upcoming summer session will be the last chapter for Expressions Film Studio. At the end of August, we will officially close our doors.

This journey has been absolutely incredible and so many of the connections and friendships will undoubtedly last a life time. For the past 15 years, I have met countless kids that made a lasting impact on my life, and each one of them made me so incredibly hopeful for the future. The energy and creativity you all brought to the camera allowed us to make so many incredible little films and explore so many difficult topics. I hope they will remain a lasting memory for you like they have for me.

But! We still have Spring Session starting up and I of course did not have time to advertise it! So if you want to come train with me one last time, this is the final act of a dream that was Expressions Film Studio!

About the Workshop
This workshop is designed to help you understand what we’re doing when we audition for a casting director, teach you what it means to prepare an audition, and show you the common pitfalls young actors face going into the room.

The workshop provides a challenging environment to build the skills required to audition at a high level every time. The day concludes with a screening of a few all-time great EFS movies and a Q&A. (Parents are invited to the final portion.)

Winter is the perfect time to keep creative muscles moving. Our classes blend acting for camera, on-set professionalism, and collaborative storytelling—welcoming both returning students and first-timers. Small class sizes, supportive coaches, and real on-camera experiences.

Get ready for action! In this exciting four-session workshop, students will learn the fundamentals of safe and believable stage combat and stunt work. From strikes and falls to choreographed fight sequences, participants will practice key techniques used by actors and stunt performers.

By the end of the program, students will put their new skills to the test in a short, choreographed sequence, which will combine storytelling, precision, and teamwork for an unforgettable experience!

We're hard at work building the Arcade Set → this term’s set for all classes.

We kicked off Fall classes this past Tuesday with some Take 1 & 2 classes. We had a great mix of new students and EFS veterans. The laughs and learning are in full swing!
