Speakers Bureau Member – Dr. Elder Harry Bone
Elder Bone discusses the original spirit and intent of the Treaties.

The Spirit and Intent of Treaties in Canada between the Crown and First Nations refers to the deeper understanding and original purpose behind Treaty agreements, as understood by the Indigenous peoples at the time they were made. It goes beyond the written text of the Treaties and includes the oral promises, cultural understandings, and mutual commitments that shaped those agreements.
