Training teachers close to home | University of Winnipeg News A wellspring of local support has greeted a new distance-education program for aspiring public school teachers in Portage la Prairie.
University of Winnipeg's Access Education is an extension of the Faculty of Education's Integrated Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Education Program.
If you have ever dreamed of pursuing a profession in the field of education but you did not believe it was possible due to financial, social, or academic reasons, then Access Education is for you. SCHOLARSHIPS FOR INDIGENOUS STUDENTS IN WINNIPEG: APPLY BY AUGUST 22, 2025
The Southern Chiefs' Organization (SCO) is sharing an opportunity offered by the City of Winnipeg to support Indigenous students pursuing post-secondary education.
The Oshki Annishinabe Nigaaniwak Scholarship is available for Indigenous youth enrolled full-time at a university, college, or trade school in Winnipeg.
You need to apply for this scholarship by August 22, 2025.
Ten students will receive a $1000 scholarship. Funds are applied directly to tuition through the institution.
Who is eligible:

Indigenous people (First Nationsβstatus or non-status, Red River MΓ©tis, or Inuit)
β
Aged 30 or under
β
Enrolled full-time in a recognized Winnipeg post-secondary program
β
Demonstrates commitment and passion for their academic path
