Manitoba Schools Science Symposium The Manitoba Schools Science Symposium (MSSS) is an annual provincial-wide science fair for Manitoban students in grades 4-12.

Started in 1972, the Manitoba Schools Science Symposium (MSSS) is an annual provincial-wide science fair. The symposium is available to all Manitoban students in grades 4 to 12 to participate, and is held during the final week of April at the University of Manitoba. Each year, approximately 400 aspiring young scientists register for MSSS to present their research to top scientists and industry exp

erts in their selected category. On the final day of the symposium participants are awarded medals, special cash awards, scholarships, program enrolments, and trips worth over $30,000. Six students are also selected by the judges to represent MSSS as part of Team Manitoba at the Canada-Wide Science Fair held annually in May. The MSSS is also about fun and engaging the next generation of scientists. The Friday before judging, students are able to take part in science related activities!
