Prime Minister Carney has announced that by 2027, the government aims to reduce the proportion of temporary foreign workers and international students to 5% of the total population—a significant drop from the current 7.5%. The key question now is how they plan to reduce the numbers of those already residing in Canada.
Here’s the good news:
The most realistic and sustainable path forward is to transition many of these individuals to Permanent Resident (PR) status.
This could open doors for thousands who are already contributing to Canadian society.
