A new guitar has been added to the family. The yet to named blonde guild guitar that belonged to my brother, who was my first teacher in all things guitar and music.

Cleaning up my photo/video storage and came across this clip from a retirement home concert I did back in 2022. I loved doing those! It’s so sweet when everyone sings along to the familiar tunes

There are completely fabricated songs AND artists hitting the internet. Fake profiles. Songwriting trained by AI. It’s all so weird for musicians that play and write the “old fashioned” way.

Neurographic Art XI “heartbreak”
Acrylic and sharpie on canvas

Dealing with stress and anxiety today. “Sometimes you eat the bear and sometimes, well, the bear eats you”

The worst kind of heartbreak is not trusting your instincts in reading the patterns, and essentially breaking your own heart. Empathy can hurt.

I still believe that God smiles on a childlike, open, trusting heart, though it is rarely rewarded in this chaotic, harsh world.

Neurographic Art X “womb”

My thoughts have been on wombs. They are both delicate and strong. Beautiful and given to inflammation and bleeding. After their intended purpose of creating a hospitable environment in which human life can grow, they continue to metaphorically, represent the seat of all creation.

Neurographic Art IX “Laundromat”
Pencil and sharpie. 6x9
I have gotten away from my summer practice because. Life. Stress. Complications. Washing machine in my building broke so had to venture forth to a laundromat and took some supplies. When you have to wait, why not create!

I have gotten away from my neurographic art summer practice because. Life. Complications. The silver lining of the laundry machine being busted in my building is a laundromat visit. What else to do while you wait but create!

Neurographic Art VI
“what’s up with _____?”

I found an old dollarstore canvas and some cheapy acrylic paint in my art bin.
(you work with the tools that you can fund! 🤣) This one is mixed media. Sharpies, acrylic paint and colored pencil. I did enjoy getting back to the paint of my youth.

Not sure I like the results but it was fun! If this is a picture of my brain, at least it’s colorful and interesting!

In my research it was mentioned that setting an intention and writing it on the back of the piece is helpful. Not really my thing so settled on a question. The line is there to protect the privacy of all people living or dead and specific life events. 😂
