Pat-A-Cake Playhouse

It’s finally summer time and we have been celebrating “ fun in the sun”activities, racing trikes, making their own PB and J sandwiches, the older kiddos got to have a hotdog lunch day and some new crafts! Life skills like practicing their stop and go skills with the new traffic light in the playground, cutting up breakfast strawberries for themselves and their friends, trying out gardening and a few kiddos have celebrated their birthdays !

Pat a Cake Playhouse is proud to present our 7 amazing graduates!!
They have completed our daycare program and are off to Kindergarten and Montessori!!
Officially big kids now 💖💖💖💖💙💙💙 🎓

Our very first Graduation! We are so thankful for such amazing parents who love their children so much and entrust their care to us!
Thank you to our incredible staff who work so hard for us too and show each little one how loved and important they are everyday! ❤️

Fathers Day in June was a success with Donuts with Dad/ Papa
While the children did not make the donuts, their loved one got treated to Tim Hortons coffee and a donut!
All the kids were thrilled to make a Snackle box full of “hugs and fishes” along with a fishing lure and bobbers , all the little ones were excited to share these treats too of course!
We have had the best time helping these little ones celebrate their mommys and daddys and a couple Papas ❤️💙

Muffins with Mom was our theme for Mother’s Day 2025!
The children made muffins and served their special moms by placing a crown on her head along with a “momosa” sparkling orange juice. 👑
Special photos and a pretty flower they were set for a breakfast with mommy 🥰

Our little ones have been busy for two weeks preparing for Easter !
We have cut up purple cabbage and added vinegar to stain white silks, we have decorated wooden eggs with stickers, one week was all about pottery, they have thrown pottery and molded it with their own hands ! Lots of painting, music and flowers 💐 we finished all our celebratory activities with baking Easter bread with lots of sprinkles!! Meeting the easter bunny was a huge success and surprise from one of our amazing familys as we celebrated their little one turning 2 … one of our sweet infants 💖
We are finally starting to see the fruits of spring ☀️ Happy Easter from all of us at Pat a Cake Playhouse!!

Our spring curriculum has arrived and we jumped right in!
Rainbow week turned into St Patrick’s Day and then right into Clover week ! 🌈💚 🍀 we even made a rainbow cake that was almost a foot tall! Rainbow crafts, cutting skills being worked on, painting and being messy is so much fun and an important part of being creative kiddos! Using sweetened condensed milk to paint toast with rainbows and making rainbow necklaces with froot loops and marshmallows with Miss Christa was special 🌈
We brought out somee very special activities that the childrenn can use to work on theor pouring, scooping and transferring skills! They love love love the real tea pot !! 🫖 ☕️
We even made it to the park for the first time this year on a warmer sunny morning !
Our children are having a wonderful start to spring time!! ☀️🥰

While we were awaiting our spring curriculum we got to have so much fun in the Zoo/ Safari theme for a week! Daily animal activities, science experiments, sensory tables and crafts, and a new circle time
Our favourite activities were the crocodile balance beam and painting rubber snakes within glue and letting them dry and then peeling them to show the way it happens in the life cycle of a snake as it grows!!
Parrots and giraffes and snakes oh my! Monkey see monkey do! After a while crocodile 🐊

January and February we celebrated the Chinese New year in style!! Eating with chop sticks and painting wooden 🐍 snakes… we learned to play tic tac toe
We’ve been chocolatiers on Valentines Day, and we have been doing hard work with our new name kits and practicing our grasping of the pencils and printing our names!! We have magnetic letters for the kids to practice their names too! Lots of opportunities to work on those fine motor skills they need for kindergarten which is coming up for 4 of our littles this year!

Washing hands skills, a giant indoor bubble party, playing with slime and couldn’t help ourselves, we got a really super fun game of “the floor is lava” going too!

Winter curriculum has been so much fun 🤩 December thru February part 1
Our Waldorf mornings have been amazing and so full of joy! Life skills and baking and and hands on experiences are always a part of our days together, working on a strong sense of independence and self confidence!
We have been busy with winter, Christmas and so many things in between! We finished the year 2024 with a fantastic load of fun and excitement 🤩
