• To serve its members and Miles Macdonell Collegiate by serving the alumni of the collegiate
• To generally promote the image of Miles Macdonell Collegiate in the

community and specifically through programs to facilitate the relationship between the collegiate and its alumni, commonly known as "friend-raising", in order to promote a continuing affiliation with the collegiate
• To communicate with all interested alumni to promote a continuing affiliation with the collegiate
• To advise the collegiate on matters of interest of the alumni
• To facilitate fundraising among the alumni to promote projects to benefit the collegiate
As of February, 2016:

The Miles Macdonell Alumni has accomplished what few have within the city, and that is to remain active after a major event such as an anniversary celebration. The incorporation of the Miles Macdonell Collegiate Alumni Association occurred on February 28, 2003, after the school’s 50th Anniversary Reunion in 2002. The Association has been meeting regularly with the collegiate to discuss any needs the school may have, and how the MMCAA can assist. In 2002 the alumni of the 50th Anniversary created a scholarship fund (deposited with the Winnipeg Foundation www.wpgfdn.org), from which 3 awards of $1500.00 were and are granted yearly. We added another scholarship in June 2015 (EAL student only); for a total of 4 $1500.00 scholarships per year, or $6,000.00 to furthering the education of Miles Macdonell Collegiate students! MMCAA achievements for our collegiate and its students are as follows:

- $52,500.00 to date for 3 yearly scholarship awards for post-secondary education for 32 students
- $1500.00 in 2015 to an EAL student (new)
- $950.00 towards the Multi Media Department to provide awards to outstanding students
- $1,150.00 to date for the www.mmcalumni.ca website
- $5000.00 in 2002 to the Music Department
- $2,500.00 for a new sports display case
- $500.00 for benches along the wall for the EAL students
- $2,463.00 total for 6 pizza luncheons for the EAL students (yearly)
- $481.00 for two binders for the collegiate archives of historical data on the collegiate
- $500.00 towards start-up costs for the Miles Mac literary magazine
- Scanned & digitized all the yearbooks from 1952/53 – 2013/14
- $1,000.00 to the music program to be used towards costs associated with developing a Prodigy website in 2013
- $2,500.00 towards painting a mural on a wall in Gym A in 2013

The MMCAA to date has provided a total of $71,044.00 to the collegiate and its students. We have organized a large electronic data base of alumni for contacting for specific alumni based events. We hope to plan some fundraising events, and are now low on cash flow. One of our more important events is our yearly host an EAL student pizza luncheon & we desperately need funds before the end of the education term so we can fulfill our most exciting/gratifying event, other than presenting the scholarships. We are a proactive Alumni Association/ We are dedicated to the continued affiliation with the collegiate and to help to promote projects to benefit the collegiate and facilitate our ‘friend-raising”! An upcoming musical performance, featuring none other than our esteemed MMC colleague John Melnyk, and his group East-West Connection.

The band will be playing 60s and 70s classic rock, with a hint of country, et un soupçon de musique Française for all you grads of Wally Saiko's class.

This dates from February 2023 and some things will have changed...

This is a mostly audio-based introduction to the school for parents planning to enroll their Grade 9 (and other) children at CMMC. It does offer a 2-D view of many of the school's facilities along the way and is a great way for people who graduated several years ago, maybe even a few decades ago, to acquaint themselves with the facilities (mostly) offered now.

The Board wants to explore the possibility of taking this to the next level for the Reunion event by allowing people who cannot attend the Reunion to visit the school in 3D... possibly... LIVE!

Plans, as we are saying today, are emerging...
