Teaching the next generation of electrical apprentices through in-class and on-the-job training.

05/29/2026

9 months ago, many of these students walked through our doors with little to no experience in the electrical trade.

Some had never bent conduit.
Some had never opened the Electrical Code book.
Some had never picked up the tools they now use with confidence every day.

Today is their last day at the Training Center… and they are leaving with knowledge, hands on experience, problem solving skills, and a foundation that will carry them into the industry. ⚡

It’s been incredible watching the growth, the friendships, the late study sessions, the laughs in the lab, and the confidence built along the way.

The version of yourself that started 9 months ago would be proud of where you are now.

Congrats to the class as they take the next step into the trade 👏

Starting a career in the electrical trade can feel intimidating at first… especially when you’re learning skills that directly impact safety, problem solving, and real job sites. ⚡

That’s why hearing feedback like this means so much to us.

Our goal has always been to create more than just a classroom. We want students to leave feeling confident, capable, and prepared for the realities of the trade through a combination of hands on training, theory, and mentorship from instructors who have real experience in the field.

When students tell us they feel ready to take on challenges in the electrical industry, that’s what it’s all about 👏

Thank you for trusting the IBEW Training Center to be part of your journey into the trade.

Thinking about becoming an electrician? Your future starts with learning the fundamentals the right way.

That first code exam pressure is real. 😅🥵

You go in thinking it’s about memorizing everything… and quickly realize it’s not.
It’s about knowing how to navigate the book.
Where to look.
How to find what you need under pressure.

That shift changes everything.

Same information, different approach, and suddenly it feels manageable.

And that’s where we come in 👇
We’ll teach you how to navigate the code book step by step, so when it’s time for the (open book 👀) exam, you’re not guessing… you know exactly what you’re doing.

Less panic. More confidence.

The Electrical Code is the rulebook electricians follow to install wiring and equipment safely. It’s not just theory, it’s the standard that keeps homes, buildings, and people protected.

It covers everything from how wires are sized, to how circuits are protected, to where outlets and panels can be placed.

And here’s the part most people don’t expect… it’s not about memorizing the whole book.
It’s about learning how to navigate it.
How to find the right section, understand what it’s saying, and apply it to real-life situations on the job.

That’s a big part of becoming an electrician, knowing where to look and how to use the code with confidence.

If you’re considering the trade, this book becomes one of your most important tools.

Bending conduit for the first time… humbling 😅
Getting it right? Unreal.

Measuring, cutting & installing conduit.

This is where precision meets hands-on skill.

Students learn:

📏How to measure accurately
📏How to bend conduit properly
📏How to install clean, professional runs

The benefit?
Your work starts to look like a pro did it.

And that feeling? Hard to beat.

That “guess and check” phase? That’s where the real learning happens.

And eventually… the guesswork turns into skill.

No experience needed. Just a willingness to figure it out.

This is where things start to get real...

Wiring fundamentals 🔌

You’re not just connecting wires… you’re learning how electricity actually flows.

Students learn:

🔌 How to strip, connect, and secure wiring
🔌 How circuits work
🔌 How to do it safely and correctly

The benefit?
You go from “I think this is right…” to “I know this is right.”

That shift? That’s confidence.

The real OGs behind every electrician? Mom.

She may not have taught you how to bend conduit… (although, some moms might have 👷‍♀️). But she did teach resilience, problem solving, and how to figure things out when nothing goes as planned.

Today we’re giving credit where it’s due 👉 To the women who raised problem solvers, builders, and future tradespeople… and the ones out there doing both.

Happy Mother’s Day! 💐 💗

Most people think Level 1 electricians start with wiring… but it actually begins here 👇

Tool handling & safety basics. 🪛

Before you install anything, you need to know how to use your tools properly.

At the IBEW Training Center, students learn:

What each tool is used for
How to handle it safely
How to work efficiently without second guessing

Because on a job site, confidence matters.

And confidence comes from knowing what you’re doing… not just hoping for the best.

💡 The benefit?
You stop feeling unsure and start working with purpose.

No experience → No problem. This is where it starts.

Students in the Construction Electrician Pre-Employment Program start from the ground up.

No experience? No problem. We teach you everything from how to safely use tools to understanding how electrical systems actually work.

It’s a mix of classroom learning and hands-on training, so you’re not just memorizing… you’re doing.

And when you finish?
You don’t just “complete a course.”
You walk away with your Level One Electrician accreditation and 900 credit hours toward your apprenticeship.

That means you’re not starting from zero… you’re already ahead.

Real skills. Real experience. Real progress toward a career in the trades.
