🚌 Starting this school year, students in Grades 6 to 12 will receive a free transit pass as part of a new provincial program in partnership with the City of Winnipeg.

📌Passes will be distributed through schools in a staged rollout:
📅 September 8: Grades 11 and 12
📅 September 23: Grades 9 and 10
📅 September 29: Grades 6, 7 and 8

💡 A few things to remember:
•Passes are valid for one year and expire August 31, 2027.
•Passes are non-transferable and are for the student they are issued to.
•Students in Grades 10 to 12 are encouraged to carry their student ID with their pass.

A reminder that the school zone speed limit of 30 km/hr is in effect.

Remember to slow down. School zone speed limits of 30 km/h are back on September 1 around many Winnipeg schools. They're in effect weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m until the end of June.

Now is a great time for parents and caregivers speak with children about road safety. Drivers and cyclists should also be extra careful around schools and daycares.
