We are extremely excited to announce that on May 17th we will be hosting the 2024 Manitoba GSA Conference in Winnipeg on Treaty 1 land and teacher applications are NOW OPEN!

Today, for the 14th week (nearly 100 days) Led by Canadian Palestinian Association of Manitoba - CPAM and community elders, women and youth; Palestinian people and allies will be in the streets of Winnipeg calling for a and an end to the Occupation of Palestine. It’s been nearly 100 days and 75 years.

The first photo was taken at an Idle No More rally, also on a cold January day. I remember Leslie Spillet saying that “We get our Medicine from the North Wind.” As she spoke, the North Wind shifted upon us.

As the the weather has gradually become colder; I have watched the Palestinian flags be carried by the North Wind. (Picture 2)

Let the bitter cold of this cold January day and rhe North Wind help us stay strong for Palestinian Liberation.

LISTEN UP!! This Friday, December 1st is World AIDS Day. The Feast Centre will be LAUNCHING Episode 6 of Indigenous Sexual Futures Podcast titled - A Love Letter to our Aunties & Kokums: Honoring STBBI Community Builders.

In this special WORLD AIDS Day episode, Indigenous Sexual Futures puts a spotlight on Ka Ni Kanichihk Inc., a remarkable Indigenous community-based organization in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Doris invited Aunties, Leslie Spillett, Jacqueline Flett and Laverne Gervais to the table to tell the story of Ka Ni Kanichihk Inc. The Aunties tell the story of the community ceremony that put the medicine in motion to build this organization in 2001, highlighting key points in the community building story of Ka Ni Kanichihk by visionary community leaders, Elders and Aunties. Ka Ni Kanichihk is a Cree word that means - those who lead.

Trans Day of Remembrance is a day of heavy hearts and holding space. The loss of Trans Lives is often not neutral, it isn’t just “loss”. It’s violence, and that violence is so often DEEPLY connected to colonial attitudes and violence.

Yesterday, people in my city came together to demand a ceasefire and an end to the settler colonial occupation of Palestine.

Today we gather to remember the lives of Trans, Two-Spirit and Indigiqueer people that we lost to transphobia, homophobia, and other forms of colonial violence.

Today we mourn, tomorrow we continue to fight for human dignity, joy and freedom for all.

👋 Hello followers both longtime and new! I am so grateful to have you here. I thought I would take a moment to reintroduce myself.

😊 I’m Erica, and my pronouns are They and Them. I’m Fat, White and Q***r Femme- which I feel is somewhere between and beyond Nonbinary and Genderqueer. I’m an ADHD babe (Neurodiverse!) I am an uninvited white settler on Indigenous earth.

💁🏼 am a s*x education consultant and also work in Harm Reduction. I’m a community organizer. I’m a Q***r parent.

🏳️‍⚧️ 🏳️‍🌈 I consider myself responsible to Q***r and Trans young people. When I make decisions about what I do, I always think about the impacts that has for and on Q***r and Trans youth.
