Yiddish (Part A) (YDSH 1220) from the Judaic Studies Program.

Yiddish is the heritage language of European Jews. Students will develop intro-level speaking, listening and writing skills in Yiddish, will learn to participate in everyday conversation topics, write short compositions and use basic grammatical forms. This is a six-credit-hour course that spans over both the fall and winter terms (September–April) (Part A and Part B).

Learn to speak, read and write Mandarin at an introductory level. The course is aimed for students with no or limited prior knowledge of the language. This is a six-credit-hour course that spans throughout fall and winter terms (September–April) (Part A and Part B).

SPAN 1182 (Introductory Spanish)⁠
This course is designed for students with very limited or no previous knowledge of Spanish. It provides an introductory study of essential grammatical structures and vocabulary that emphasizes developing communication skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing. Various aspects of the societies and cultures of the Spanish-speaking world will be studied. Upon successful completion, students will have achieved proficiency equivalent to Level A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.⁠
