The GLIER x SOE Seminar Series is back! The first seminar of the year will feature Dr. Taras Oleksyk, Associate Professor from Oakland University, giving a seminar titled "Reading a lake by its bacteria: portable long-read sequencing of bacterioplankton". The seminar will be on Friday, October 9th at 12:00pm in the GLIER Davidson Conference Room 250. All are welcome!

Congratulations to Dr. Aaron Fisk, SOE and GLIER faculty and Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Changing Great Lakes Ecosystems! He was recently named as Fellow to the Royal Society of Canada in recognition of his "national and international contributions to aquatic research and leadership".
