New journal recognizes undergraduate history research Calin Murgu figured it was about time all the great historical research being done by his undergraduate colleagues was given some more permanent recognition.

The History Students Association is proud to host a special event to celebrate our veterans. There will be a screening of the Windsor Historical Society's documentary titled The Veterans' Memories Project to be held on Tuesday, April 9 from 4-7pm in McPherson Lounge, Alumni Hall. All are encouraged to attend. Refreshments to follow.

Five Books about Book History!
From Dr. Leslie Howsam: The “book” in “book history” is an umbrella term for everything from marks on stone, to handwriting on parchment, to printed books and magazines, to new digital media. Book history looks at how written communication has been composed, mediated, and received, how it has survived, and how it changes over time. Novelists, historians, librarians and literary critics have written about it, and I’ve chosen five of their books to show you how interesting it can be.

The Mentorship and Learning Program is taking applications from current 2nd and 3rd year students for Fall 2012. Selected students will enrol in the Fall 2012 FASS course: Mentorship and Learning, and will be placed in our first-year history class, Past to Present: Understanding History. This is a great opportunity to develop leadership skills and become involved in the work of the History Department (and it is impressive on a resume).
