If our artist educator Mbonisi Zikhali Zomkhonto has graced your class recently, you likely learned about these three Black women who altered the course of history. While this post just scratches the surface of each person’s accomplishments, we encourage you to keep learning about these - and so many other - Black women who fought against colonial oppression, racism, misogyny, and more to defend their communities. ✊🏿

Welcome back everyone! We hope your year has gotten off to a strong start - but if not, that’s okay too!✨

We’re starting this year off with a fun fact! Did you know that youth who are regularly involved in the arts are several times more likely to be recognized for academic achievement, according to Americans for the Arts? We’re grateful to witness the many creations and milestones that our students achieve!💫
