Deborah Hatchard owned a well respected accounting business out of the Ellershouse/Windsor area for 21 years and was a huge advocate for supporting local area businesses. She served on many Board of Directors and was a mentor to many business owners.

She was also a loving mother to Billie-Ray and Melissa Hatchard who both attended high school in West Hants. In addition to raising her own children, she also raised and took in other children into her home. She had a huge heart and always wanted to make sure that children had a safe, loving home which they could thrive in.

After Deborah Hatchard passed away on September 5, 2022, the Deborah Hatchard Memorial Community Impact Award was created as a means to keep her legacy and memory alive.

This $1000 annual bursary will go to an Avonview student who not only supports their local community, but who also creates the biggest “impact”.

Donations to the Award can be made in support of the annual Deborah Hatchard Memorial “Community Impact” Award care of: Windsor Area Education Fund Association, PO Box 3449, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0.
Donations can also be made via e-transfer to [email protected]. All donations will be tax deductible.
