We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended our town hall meeting last night for the Wildwood Rural Academy Society. Seeing our community come together in support of local education and the future of our children was truly inspiring.

We'd like to extend a special thank you to those who helped make the evening such a success:

🍦 Gina's Ice Cream Shack and Branding Iron Smokehouse — Thank you for your generous support and the delicious treats that helped bring everyone together.

🏛️ Office of Martin Long — Thank you to the representatives who took the time to attend, meet with us, and listen to our community's vision for the future.

🎨 Chris Bliznicenko — Thank you for your hard work behind the scenes creating the beautiful buttons and brochures that helped bring our message to life.

❤️ Our families and supporters...
Thank you for your patience, encouragement, and unwavering belief in this project. The many hours being invested are all for our children and for the opportunity to keep quality education right here in our community.

We still have work ahead of us, but the turnout, enthusiasm, and support shown at this meeting reminded us that when a community comes together with a shared vision, incredible things can happen.

IF WE WANT CHANGE, WE HAVE TO BE A PART OF CREATING IT!

Stay tuned for updates as we continue taking the next steps toward making Wildwood Rural Academy a reality!

🚨ATTENTION EVERYONE WHO IS COMING TO OUT TOWN HALL MEETING ON TUESDAY...IT WILL NOW BE HELD AT THE WILDWOOD COMMUNITY HALL NOT THE COMPLEX!🚨

📣📣📣What started as an idea around a table is becoming something real!📣📣📣

The Board has been working hard behind the scenes, attending meetings, completing paperwork, asking questions, and taking the next necessary steps to move Wildwood Rural Academy forward.

A couple of days ago we received exciting news: 🎉WILDWOOD RURAL ACADEMY IS OFFICIALLY A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION🎉

This milestone may seem small to some, but to those who have poured their time, energy, and hearts into this vision, it represents meaningful progress and another step toward creating new educational opportunities for our community.

We know many of you are eager for updates, and while there is still much work ahead, we wanted you to know that progress is being made.

Our next Town Hall meeting will include representatives from provincial government offices who are interested in learning more about our proposed charter school and the vision our community has been working so hard to build.

➡️A reminder to parents who INTEND to send their children to Wildwood Rural Academy: if you have not yet completed a Letter of Intent form, we encourage you to do so as soon as possible. These forms are not official registrations, but they are a CRITICAL PART of the application process as they help demonstrate the level of community interest and provide an estimate of anticipated student enrollment.

Forms can be picked up at Gina's Sugar Shack in Wildwood and will also be available at our next Town Hall meeting! With hopes of submitting our final application by the beginning of August, gathering these Letters of Intent is an important step that we don't want families to delay on. If you are considering enrolling your child, please take a few moments to complete a form.

Thank you to everyone who has attended meetings, shared feedback, signed forms, asked questions, and supported this journey. We couldn't do it without you🙏🏼

The dream is still alive, and we're continuing to move forward, one step at a time!

📣📣📣Join us for cake and ice cream on June 16th at the Wildwood Community Hall at 7:00pm - we look forward to seeing you there, this is one you dont want to miss!📣📣📣

Fun fact: Alberta has some of the highest-performing charter schools in CANADA...Charter schools are still public schools, they are tuition-free, publicly funded, and open to all students, but they’re able to focus on specialized approaches to learning that best serve their communities.

At Wildwood Rural Academy, our vision is rooted in:
🌾 Rural values
🛠️ Vocational learning
🌱 Land-based education
🤝 Community connection

We believe rural kids deserve innovative opportunities right here at home💚

What’s one thing YOU would love to see included in a rural education model? 👇

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us so far, whether you attended the town hall, asked questions, shared your thoughts, or simply showed interest in what we’re building🫶

What we’re creating here goes far beyond just a school. It’s about opportunity, connection, and giving our kids the future they deserve right here in our community!

We are incredibly grateful for the amount of support we already have, but the more people we can reach, the stronger this becomes. We have extra Letters of Intent available at Gina’s Sugar Shack in Wildwood. If you’re able, feel free to pick some up, share them with friends, family, or neighbors, and help us continue building momentum.

This truly takes a community, and we’re so proud of what we’re seeing so far, so thank you!

Thank you to everyone who came out to our second Town Hall for the Wildwood Rural Academy. The turnout, the thoughtful questions, and the genuine interest in creating something meaningful for our kids speaks volumes about this community.

This is what community looks like, people coming together, asking questions, and being part of building something better for the future.

We know this journey will take work, but we are a group of community driven individuals committed to keeping a school in our community and creating something our kids can truly thrive in.

If you weren’t able to attend or if questions come up afterward, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We welcome the conversations, the feedback, and anyone who feels called to be part of this journey.

We are incredibly excited about what’s ahead!
