Did you know Yellowknife was once home to the world's busiest airport by aircraft movements in the '40s and '50s? Bush planes were constantly coming and going, delivering supplies, mail and people to some of the most remote places in Canada!
Standing at the Bush Pilots monument, it's wild to think about the pilots who flew open-cockpit aircraft through snowstorms with nothing but a map and a compass.
Aviation has shaped the North in so many ways and we are proud to be part of that story.
