Helping you and your kids become, safer, more confident and faster than Mom and Dad on a bike!

Skills lessons, week long and day camps based in and around Whitehorse

01/06/2025

We're getting a lot of enquiries regarding summer camps for 2025. We're encouraged by the requests and kind things you have to share about your kids experiences at our camps.

Your kids experience on our camps is our primary reason for existing as a business. We strive to make them challenging, confidence building, engaging, varied and as safe as we can make them while developing their mountain biking skills and love for the outdoors.

Because we have no interest in putting out a sub par experience that could be confused with glorified babysitting, we don't have any news yet on 2025 camps. Some of our amazing coaches have moved on to different careers, parenthood and other towns and I (Dan) want to make sure we have new coaches/youth workers that can live up to the quality camp experience that we are known for and also an administrator that can help execute them smoothly and keep our communications and seasonal operations up to par before we publish dates and numbers. My ideal is that we would have registrations released by spring break but before that can happen, there is a lot to figure out.

Staffing: if you know of anyone who is looking for part or full time administration hours with business experience from May to October, please send them our way. And if you know of any riders with wilderness first aid, a class 4 license, are certified instructors (or willing and capable to certify), who have a heart for seeing kids grow as riders and as people, then have them drop us a line.

Pricing: as the price of everything goes up, sadly so must the price of our camps. We are significantly cheaper than every other business from Calgary to Victoria and to keep making our camps and programs economically viable, we will have to increase pricing closer to the western Canada average. We do not want this to be an unreachable experience for families that are struggling so we are looking at ways to partner with local non profits to facilitate some subsidized spots to help make it more attainable.

Thank you for your patience and continued support, hopefully all the pieces will come together to make summer 2025 a great one.

Unfortunately we will not be offering summer camps for 2024.

If your child is in Grade 4 or 5 we will be running free in school sessions with RPAY this spring. Please ask your child's teacher to reach out to us if they want us to provide sessions for their class.

We also hope to be running Hop On sessions for CAY. Registration details will come later in the spring.

Our purpose

To help youth and adults become more confident, more stable, safer mountain bikers through following proven teaching methods, helping them enjoy all the trails the Yukon has to offer. This summer we will be offering week long and day skills camps.

Lead instructor, Dan moved to Whistler BC from the UK, taking experience from years of racing and riding dirt bikes and applying it to downhill mountain biking in the Coastal Mountains and becoming a certified instructor firstly with IMBA and ultimately transferring to the PMBIA. Dan has over 14 years of experience in youth work and outdoor leadership.

We have a number of volunteers that help out on rides, all of whom’s riding experience and maturity on the trail is vetted by the lead instructor along with valid criminal record checks.

Due to the nature of the wilderness we live in and the associated risks with mountain biking the lead instructor always carries a GPS 2 way messaging and location device and has up-to-date advanced wilderness first aid training.
