Summer has flown by, and we are getting ready to fill the halls of Whitecourt Central School with
familiar faces, new friends, big smiles, and, of course, a whole lot of Eagle spirit!

This is one of our favourite nights of the year! Come meet your teacher, drop off school supplies, find your classroom, reconnect with friends, and get your Eagle ready for the year ahead! And, of course, don’t forget there will be ice cream! Because every good school year should start with a little sweetness.

🚌 FIRST RIDERS BUS ORIENTATION
📅 Thursday, August 27
⏰ 9:00–10:00 a.m.

If your child is new to riding the bus, this is a great opportunity to help make that first bus ride a little less intimidating and a lot more familiar.

staggered entry instructions.

🧸 BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL CARE

Looking for some extra support with before-or after-school care this year?

A new Before and After School Care program is being developed through a partnership with the
Bear Necessities Society, with programming planned to begin in September. Families who are interested in learning more are encouraged to contact: [email protected]

We know that getting ready for a new school year can be expensive, and we want every WCS
student to come to school ready to learn.

As we wrap up an amazing school year, we want to make sure you're all set for the 2026-2027 school year!

Important Summer Hours Note:

Our school office will be officially closing for the summer break on Friday, June 26th at 4:15 PM.

But don't worry, if you still need to register your child, you don't have to wait until September! You can take care of it from the comfort of your own home over the summer.

How to Register Over the Summer:

Visit the Whitecourt Central School website to access the digital registration packages.

Fill out the forms online.

June "Beach Day" and our final assembly of the 2025-2026 school year! Thank you to staff, WCS families and most importantly students for the amazing school year!

The Town of Whitecourt is hosting two youth resiliency building camps over the summer.

These free camps are open to ages 11-14 and focus on the skills and sources of resilience through games, activities, crafts and more!

Register through the Allan & Jean Millar Centre.

In recognition of National Indigenous Peoples Day, taking place on Sunday, June 21, WCS students enjoyed a special performance by the Dancing Cree!

This presentation included a showcase of Indigenous culture, dance, and song. A few students even had the opportunity to showcase their talent in a friendly but competitive cultural dance off!

Thank you to the Dancing Cree for taking the time to share their stories and history with us, and Mrs. Kinloch for organizing this presentation.

The Whitecourt and District Public Library is excited to be launching Summer Fun Programs!

This year's theme, "Dive In," invites children and families to explore a summer filled with free stories, creative crafts, exciting challenges, and plenty of fun activities.
