Guests from Yubetsu visited Percy Baxter to showcase their traditional drumming and share cultural games with us. Our students embraced the challenge, shared plenty of laughs, and loved learning something new! We feel so lucky to have hosted these special visitors and experienced a beautiful piece of their culture.

Tuesday, our school community came together to honor Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

We also celebrated students with our monthly Seven Teachings Award of Respect. Just like the Buffalo, our award recipients show respect for their peers, their teachers and themselves. They are helping build a school environment where everyone feels valued, safe and heard.

Today is more than a “day off from school”. It comes with a solemn promise to treat one another with empathy, carry truth forward, and commit to walking together toward a more respectful future.

9 2 5! 🎤✨ Percy Baxter celebrated Dolly Parton Day in style! Many of our staff dressed up in Dolly-inspired outfits, and the whole school embraced her love of reading by Dropping Everything And Reading (DEAR) to wrap up the week.
The highlight of the day? A fantastic performance of "9 to 5" by the Dolly Divas, with our talented students joining in! 📚🎶

A huge thank you to Ms. Monahan for organizing a fantastic school-wide breakfast this morning! The kids loved every bit of it—especially the eggs, sausage, hash browns, and fresh fruit. Seeing their excitement was the best start to the day. 🍳🍓
A big shoutout to all of our amazing staff and volunteers who helped make it all happen!

Just a reminder this is tonight at the Forest Interpretive Center at 6pm.

The Whitecourt RCMP is pleased to welcome the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams - Internet Child Exploitation (ALERT-ICE) Unit for a presentation discussing topics including sextortion, child luring, online predators, and so much more.

This presentation will provide attendees with knowledge on how to keep children safe and give them an unfiltered perspective of the dangerous activities that occur online.

The presentation includes topics that may be sensitive for some audiences. The recommended age for attendance is 14+, although the information is more catered towards parents, guardians, and professionals working with youth, we encourage all members of the community to attend.

When: September 24, 2026 at 6:00pm
Where: Forest Interpretive Centre, 3002 33 Street, Whitecourt, AB

Ms. Monahan had her first cooking club on Friday! The milkshakes were pretty "Star-tastic." Cannot wait to see what they cook up next.
