Hello St Basil Bears Families! 🐻
It's that time of year again when we are all starting to prepare for Back-to-School. Below is a list of supplies your child will need for the start of school in September. Please note that if you are unable to acquire any of the items below, the school will provide essential materials for your child.

All Students
• Backpack and lunch bag/box
• Indoor shoes (no black soles that leave scuff marks). Velcro or slip-on for students who do not know how to tie shoelaces yet. Must be safe for gym class (no sandals, flip-flops, heels, etc.).
• reusable water bottle (dishwasher safe, no glass)

Kindergarten/Grade 1 + 2
• Emergency clothes for weather or bathroom accidents (send extra if they are prone to multiple bathroom accidents and extra socks)
• Flushable wipes (if your child struggles with proper wiping)
• Pencil case/box with pencils, markers, coloured pencils, glue sticks, scissors
• If your child struggles with separation anxiety, please send a family picture
•Grade 1 + Grade 2- headphones

Grades 3/4/5
• Headphones/earbuds
• pencil case/box
• pencils, eraser, pencil sharpener
• markers, pencil crayons
• glue sticks, scissors
• metric ruler – 30cm & protractor
• highlighter

Grades 6/7/8
• Same materials as Grade 3/4/5
• Calculator (Gr. 7/8 – scientific)
• Pens

Students entering Grades 6–9 are invited to join our FREE Summer Transition Program on August 18 & 19. This two-day program is designed to help students build confidence, make new connections, and feel ready for the year ahead.

Open to students from St. Augustine, St. Basil, Our Lady of Fatima, and Holy Name of Jesus participating in the Indigenous Program. Meals and transportation are provided.

Congratulations to our Track & Field team who travelled to Wawa Wednesday and had a great meet! They achieved good results, tried new things and most importantly cheered each other on all day!! Thanks to our coaches and chaperones for making this day an incredible one for the whole team!

On Tuesday our students got to celebrate their learning from the year at the Drumbeat Gathering hosted by St Augustine.

They have worked all year to learn about the drum and songs which they loved showcasing infront of the other Northern Schools.

Thank you to Fire Wolf (Christina), Mme Cyr and our Elder Laverne for working with our students and sharing their knowledge with us this school year.

The kids loved getting out and helping clean up our part of Ontario on this Ontario Day! Thanks to the township for organizing Community Clean-up!

The Township of White River would like to extend a big thank you to all of the community members and students and staff from St. Basil's Catholic School - White River - hscdsb who participated in our Community Clean-Up Event!

Your time, effort, and community spirit helped make White River a cleaner and more beautiful place for everyone to enjoy. We truly appreciate everyone who came out to lend a hand and make a positive difference in our community.
