Budding Gems Gardens
Budding Gems Gardens is here to help you successfully garden and grow food at home!
Last summer’s sunflowers, still pulling their weight 🌻
This morning I cracked open dried sunflower heads, sorted seeds, and enjoyed the slow gardening.
No pressure. No rush.
Why seed saving just makes sense:
• Ecological 🌱
• Cost-effective 💸
• Easy + regenerative 🔄
Old flowers. New beginnings.
Stay tuned—these seeds are going places.
Lupines
Tithonia
Lemon Balm
Dahlias
Lupins are my flower. Full stop.
I literally planned my last PEI trip around lupine season… and then got them tattooed on my leg while I was there 🌸 so yes, I think it’s safe to say this love runs deep.
So here we are—starting lupins from seed early early because they’ve always been a little tricky for me.
Maybe I’m too fussy.
Maybe I need to chill.
Maybe I need to accept that I don’t actually live on a windswept red-rock island in PEI 😌 who’s to say.
BUT. These seeds have officially germinated. They’ve woken up. And now they’re being lovingly babied under the lights, getting tiny misty baths like the delicate little drama queens they are.
I am determined.
I am committed.
I WILL become the Lupine Lady.
🎸 Turn it up — the greens are ROCKING!
These trays?
Pure winter chaos in the best way.
Microgreens grow FAST, look wild, and are wildly satisfying — especially when the ground is frozen solid and you’re basically living inside a snow globe.
No garden? No problem.
No experience? Even better.
Microgreens are the perfect way to tiptoe into gardening, build confidence, and grow something lush right now.
And yes — I’m teaching all of this.
👉 All new microgreens content + the course will drop in my newsletter first.

Let’s grow some microgreens together. 🤘
This season I’m in my experimental era.
Coco coir. H**p mats. Clay pebbles. Perlite.
Mixing mediums, testing methods, breaking imaginary garden rules just to see what actually works.
Gardening isn’t about doing it right — it’s about doing it your way.
Try the thing. Change it up. Learn as you grow.
That’s literally the whole point 🌿✨
Microgreens: easy to grow, quick to flex.
Miss a watering and suddenly things get… dramatic.
Keep them hydrated, give them a little daily love, and they’ll be very good to you 💚
When your pea shoots look like little alien plants...
Day one: who dis?
Day three: I am a forest 🌿
These tiny seeds go from barely-there to full-on leafy drama in just a few days.
Microgreens grow fast and they absolutely know it.
If you’re curious about growing your own fresh greens at home, stick with me — I’ve got so much coming for you.
These little greens are up to something 👀
Do you know what they are?
Have you ever grown anything like this at home?
🌱🌱🌱
Hello there, little ones 🌱
Nothing quite compares to those first signs of a new year beginning to wake up. The early greens always feel like so hopeful, and full of possibility.
My Grey-Headed Coneflowers form are coming up strong, alongside baby salad mix and a few brave little lettuce heads, stretching toward the light and reminding me why I love this work so much.
Here’s to a gentle start to the 2026 growing season—and to growth in all its forms.
New plants, new ideas, and some very exciting new things taking root as Budding Gems expands this year.
Stay close. The garden is just getting started 💚
