Durham District School Board This is the official page of the Durham District School Board.

The Durham District School Board (DDSB) is responsible for public education in the rural communities of Uxbridge, Brock and Scugog townships and the cities and towns of Ajax, Whitby, Pickering and Oshawa. We employ over 10,000 teaching and educational services staff in 135 elementary and secondary schools and learning centres. DDSB has more than 79,000 regular day students and thousands more who take continuing education and adult credit courses. After 8 years of planning, fundraising and perseverance, McCaskill’s Mills PS Public School has a brand-new playground!

Our incredible community came together to raise $110,000! Families, businesses, organizations, staff and neighbours all played a part. 🙌

What started with an aging playground became an amazing example of what a small community can accomplish when we come together.

What a special first day of school for the students, families, and staff at Captain Michael VandenBos PS! ✈️❤️

The Canadian Forces Snowbirds marked the occasion with a special flyover in honour of the late Captain Michael VandenBos. They even radioed down a special first-day-of-school message to the students as they flew overhead!

A meaningful tribute and an unforgettable way for the kids to begin the school year. ❤️🇨🇦
