Wishing all of our families a joyful and peaceful holiday season! From our young learners to the entire Durham Montessori School & Daycare team, we hope this festive season brings happiness, rest, and exciting adventures ahead!

In a Montessori classroom, teaching children to give back fosters empathy and a sense of community. Through activities like Feed the Need food drives, children learn that their actions can make a difference. This hands-on approach nurtures compassion, responsibility, and a lifelong desire to help others.

The Pink Tower in the Montessori classroom is a foundational material that supports the development of visual discrimination, fine motor skills, and spatial awareness in young children. Through stacking and arranging the ten cubes, children enhance their understanding of size, sequencing, and balance while indirectly preparing for mathematical concepts like volume and measurement. This iconic material also fosters concentration, precision, and problem-solving as children work independently or collaboratively.
