Before children can confidently read words, they need to hear the sounds inside them. 🌿

Using real objects makes letter sounds more concrete and easier to recognize. Children can match what they hear to something they already know, then revisit the activity independently whenever they’re ready.

That repetition helps build a stronger foundation for reading and spelling later on.

Sometimes the easiest way to understand a new concept is to make it something a child can actually see and touch. 🌿

Using real objects to introduce compound words helps children recognize how two familiar words can come together to create an entirely new word.

Once they understand the concept through hands-on matching, they can take that learning into their writing.

A child’s ability to concentrate doesn’t always come from being reminded to “pay attention.” ‼️

Often, it grows when they’re given meaningful work, enough time to stay with it, and an environment that supports independence. ✏️

That’s one of the things Montessori does really well, it gives children space to become more engaged in the learning process.
