Before numbers become abstract on a worksheet, Montessori gives children a concrete way to understand how the decimal system works.

By physically seeing the progression from units → tens → hundreds → thousands, children can begin to understand that 10 units make a ten, 10 tens make a hundred, and 10 hundreds make a thousand.

It turns a big math concept into something they can experience, not just memorize.

The lesson doesn’t end when the activity is finished. ✨

Liquid dropper transferring gives children the opportunity to practice concentration, precision, hand-eye coordination, and control through a simple hands-on activity.

But there’s another important part of the work: cleaning up afterward.

Using the sponge to absorb the water and restore the workspace helps reinforce independence, responsibility, and care for their environment.
