What's up, Whitby Village? We hope you are settling in to your rooms comfortably. Today, we will be introducing you to our Residence Life Management Team, the folks who work with RA Naa'il to make sure your Residence experience is everything you want it to be! If you see us around the halls, make sure to say hey!

GOOOOOOAAAAAAL! Friday's FIFA Tournament run by RA Feisal was a smash hit! Thank you to everyone who participated and congratulations to Nigel Sampy, our tournament champion!

June 21st is National Indigenous Peoples Day. It is an official day of celebration to recognize and honour the heritage, cultures and valuable contributions to society by First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. National Indigenous Peoples Day is the same day as the summer solstice (the longest day of the year) and was chosen for its important symbolism to many Indigenous peoples.

Durham College and Ontario Tech University Residence buildings are situated on the traditional lands of the First Peoples of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation. These lands are covered under the Williams Treaties and rest within the traditional territory of the Anishinaabeg. We acknowledge the power and privilege held by settlers on this land, which has perpetuated systemic inequalities. We recognize and honor the past and present relationships with Indigenous communities and commit to ongoing reconciliation efforts. We strive for a shared future grounded in justice, respect, and mutual understanding.

Adventure, ho! RA Feisal took some of our Summer residents on a Friday hike through the Cedar Valley Park. Looks like it was a lovely day!
