Spacious Teams

This one is for all the 7s 🥳

You can rally the team with enthusiasm, and you ensure the meetings aren't boring. You have great ideas (lots of them!) and are always up for something new and exciting. You think creatively, and can pivot quickly if needed!

Not a Type 7, but find yourself often focused on the future? These can be helpful for you, too.

Check in with yourself! How are things going? How are you doing?

Can we help?

Sometimes all you need is intentional time to reflect and consider your path forward, and sometimes a little outside perspective helps to get you moving.

Whatever you're up to, don't stay stuck.

This is what happens when an artist discovers the enneagram 🎨

Thanks for this, Vera Malitskaya! It was great working with you and your team at Artist's Palette Durham Region.

What type are YOU? 👇

Have you heard of the Enneagram personality test? We recently took an enneagram assessment and apparently I ( Vera) am an 8 🤣 and Liesl is a 6 🤔, and we don’t know what Chris is just yet 😏

Which one do you think you are???

🤏Type 1 🤏 Strict Perfectionist
- Precision, precision, precision!
- How many millimetres to the left was it exactly?
- What shade of pink is it EXACTLY?

❤️ Type 2 ❤️Considerate Helper
- * Repeats artist’s instructions for other participants who missed them *
- * Answers questions on the instructor’s behalf *
- Very helpful! Instructor’s favourite!

🏆 Type 3 🏆 Competitive Achiever
- Game on!
- Paints over and starts again so they have more expert outcome.
- Won’t admit they need help.

🎨 Type 4 🎨 Intense Creative
- This speaks to my SOUL!
- I’ll add a little bird here and change the colours, will change the medium too, and maybe I will even paint it on the wall instead.

✍️ Type 5 ✍️ Quiet Specialist
- Has the best tools and art supplies because they researched extensively.
- Rewatches the sections of the video over and over to better understand the technique.

🤔 Type 6 🤔 Loyal Sceptic
- Wants reassurance that they're meeting the criteria.
- Does this look like it should?
- Please give me clear instructions on how to make it look like yours.

😍 Type 7 😍 Enthusiastic Visionary
- Oh, that’s so cool, I must do this!
- * Forgets supplies *
- * Late, or forgets to show up to tutorial because other fun plans came up *

😒 Type 8 😒 Active Controller
- * Wants the tutorial to go faster *
- * Slightly annoyed the instructor is waiting so long for other people to finish *

😌 Type 9 😌 Adaptive Peacemaker
- * Enjoys not having to make decisions*
- Just tell me what to do.

Post which one you think you are in the comments 👇 Bonus points to anyone who can guess what type Chris is 🙌

Every team has conflict - how you deal with it is pivotal to your team's effectiveness and health. Make it a win!

Artist’s Palette Durham is co-owned by powerhouse entrepreneurs Liesl Scheppat and Vera Malitskaya. Their action-oriented ‘get it done’ team style has allowed them to build an online empire over the last few years, offering virtual paint tutorials and growing their loyal subscriber base. Find on YouTube (55k subscribers) or Facebook (85k followers) to see more of their amazing work in art AND business!

Liesl’s enneagram type is SX6 (the countertype), which means she creates security by taking risk or danger head-on. She is fierce, strong and capable. Vera shares all of these qualities as an enneagram type SP8. She assertively goes after what she wants, not allowing obstacles to deter her. Her tenacity has served her well.

While Liesl and Vera’s individual underlying motivations are quite different, on the surface their actions and styles appear to be very similar. This allows for alignment and understanding in their partnership, and a whole lot of success as they tackle challenges together.

Suggested ways to become a more spacious team: giving themselves permission to go with the flow, checking in with their own needs, and allowing for rest and rhythms (individually and together).

Curious about what you or your team’s strengths, risks and blindspots are? Take the enneagram assessment today and get started on some productive self-discovery and growth.
