The more you learn about bikes, the more you realize there is to learn.
That's why we've added an Advanced Bicycle Mechanic Course from July 20th–24th
Over five days, you'll dive into some of the more technical areas of bike mechanics, including:
🔧 Wheel building and wheel repair
🔧 Suspension theory and maintenance
🔧 Hydraulic brake systems
🔧 Advanced workshop practices and diagnostics
🔧 Bearings, hubs, headsets, and precision adjustments
It's a great next step for riders who want a deeper understanding of their bikes, current shop staff looking to upskill, or graduates of the Professional Mechanic course wanting to continue their training.

One of the perks of bike mechanic school?
Post-class rides.
Sometimes it's just about getting out on the trails with your classmates. Sometimes it's about putting your new skills to work when something goes wrong.
A trailside repair, a quick fix, and back to riding. Not a bad way to learn.

It's the first week of the Professional Mechanic course!
By the end, these same students will be diagnosing problems, bleeding brakes, truing wheels, and working through repairs with confidence.
It's one of our favourite transformations to watch.

Quick question:
If someone offered to help pay for staff training, would you take it?
The BC Employer Training Grant can cover up to 80% of eligible training costs.
Which makes sending staff for professional mechanic training a whole lot easier to justify.

Bike seaon is here and the bikes are rolling into the service area faster than they can roll out.
Which is great...
Unless you're trying to train a new mechanic at the same time.
That's why we exist.
Let us handle the training so your experienced mechanics can stay focused on the work in front of them.

One of the best parts of running these courses is seeing the shift.
People come in unsure… and leave actually confident working on bikes.
That’s the goal.

Trails don’t build or maintain themselves.
With more riders on trails than ever, especially with the rise of e-bikes, the demand for skilled trail builders and maintenance crews keeps growing.
That’s why trail building is part of the Mountain Sports Technician program at Whistler Adventure School.
The course is taught by Whistler’s own Dan Raymond, Lead Trail Builder at WORCA and longtime WAS instructor. Dan has been building trails since 2011 and brings real-world experience from years spent shaping and maintaining the trails people ride every day.
For anyone interested in trail building, stewardship, or building a career in the bike industry beyond the repair stand, this is where those skills start: https://bit.ly/4wAsTXf
