update Dec 23 2020
After 35 years or so Ski Finders has now retired. If you have lost your gear we suggest calling Sabre Rentals and rent a magnetic locator. or post in Whistler Winter and look for someone who has one. There are several in the valley and some of the owners will go look for your lost stuff. Good Luck, it's been fun
We find skis, snowboards, cell phones, keys and anything else with iron In it.

Hi all. so, the plan was to retire but you're losing gear so here's the new plan. I'll discuss with you if i think my machine will find what you lost and if so rent you the machine $100 and give you a lesson on how to use it. this is till Jan 20 after that' i'm on a holiday. if you know of someone interested in treasure hunting and is on the hill daily skiing (sorry boarders it'll take you to long). they can run ski finders.

Lost your gear? Ski Finders will rent you the finder and give you a lesson now to run it. If we find someone who will go search for you we'll update this page.

WHAT IS SKI FINDERS?
Ski Finders is Whistler Resort’s lost equipment recovery service.
When guests lose a ski (keys, cell phones etc)
Ski Finders can often recover it.
HOW CAN YOU HELP GUESTS? When you see a guest
with one ski ask where the other one is? Should they
say it’s lost in the powder let them know about
Ski Finders.
WHAT’S THE PROCEDURE? We need to know where to look.
GPS coordinates and WB app; guests can send us the GPS coordinates of where the ski was lost and or a screen shot of where they were skiing. Find My Phone. Turn it on before you lose your phone
SKI FINDERS LOST SKI MARKERS: Ski Finders has ‘Ski Finders lost ski markers’ located at the bottom of most alpine lifts and at the ski patrol offices/huts in the alpine. These lost ski markers are orange disks on bamboo poles. Have the guest place the marker where they lost their ski.
HOW CAN GUESTS MARK THE SPOT: Ski shops or ski patrol at the ‘top’ of the mountain will lend guests rental skis to go mark the location of the lost ski. We often find that when a guest loses a ski, other resort guests or sometimes Ski Patrol will bring the guests a Lost Ski Marker.
Guests calls Ski Finders and discusses the likelihood of a successful search. If Ski Finders feels recovery is likely they’ll go with the guest and search for the ski. If the guest is not able to attend the site and they can mark where the ski was lost, Ski Finders can then attend without the guest.
SUCCESS RATE: 90% Ski Finders only searches if we think a successful search will be the result.
COST: a successful search is $200. An unsuccessful search is $100, Cash, Visa or MasterCard. Rates may vary for special cases.
