We are so thankful for the continued support from the Weyburn Red Wings!

This basketball season was an exciting one for the boys at St Michael school. We had enough boys interested to create two teams! Both teams attended tournaments and performed well. Perhaps the most intense games is when they played against each other. Thank you to Mr Galvin, Mrs Scrupps, Mr Hnatiuk, Mr Butz and Mr O’Dell for all the support and dedication to the teams this season.

The Girls Basketball team had a very successful season. They attended tournaments in Stoughton and Gladmar winning first place at both. They ended their season with a gold medal at districts after a hard fought game against WCS on Wednesday. Thank you to Ms Renz and Mr Butz for coaching this season.

It all started when students in Nova Scotia stood up for a classmate who was bullied for wearing pink. One simple act of courage sparked a nationwide movement for kindness.

If you are looking for an event this Valentine’s Day

Today St. Michael School was a lucky recipient to host the Saskatchewan Roughriders. The Riders read and led literacy stations with our younger grades, and offered presentations on Wellness for the older students, all the while giving copious amounts of autographs to one and all. SMS is very grateful to have had such an awesome opportunity, and the Roughriders were beyond fantastic, demonstrating exceptional manners, kindness and enthusiasm with our students.
