Important Update: End-of-Year Party Cancellation, Portfolio Night Still On

Dear Roslyn Families, Students, and Volunteers,

Due to the rainy weather forecast, we are incredibly sad to announce that we have to cancel our End-of-Year Party for tomorrow, Friday, May 29th. We are so disappointed that we won't be able to celebrate together as we envisioned, but the safety and comfort of our community come first.

While the party may be off, our immense gratitude is not. We want to send a massive, heartfelt thank you to our wonderful Roslyn Hands volunteers, families, and students for making this such a spectacular school year. Your dedication, energy, and support are what make the Roslyn community so incredibly special.

The good news is that the year isn’t over yet, and we still have plenty of excitement ahead! Please keep these upcoming end-of-year activities on your radar:

Portfolio Night: Friday, May 29, 4-5 pm. This event is NOT cancelled! We look forward to seeing you all there to celebrate our students' hard work.
During the portfolio night, there will be the Scholastic Book Fair in the Gymnasium, along with our Sweet Stop for Hope-Terry Fox Foundation donation booth and a student-led SPCA donation kiosk.
Please ensure to have cash or cards for donations or purchases.

Final Pizza Lunch: Friday, June 12 (Our last one of the year!)

Roslyn Talent Show: Tuesday, June 16
Thank you all for your understanding, your flexibility, your support, and for a truly wonderful school year.

Warmly,
Roslyn HandS Association

Thank you to all of our HandS volunteers. This week (and always) we thank you for your time and dedication to our students. Each and every one of you have given your time and your kindness for our students and we are forever grateful! Happy Volunteer Week.

Volunteer Week is a chance to stop and really see the people who make our school communities feel like more than just buildings.

In Home & School Associations, volunteers are the ones who step in again and again, not because it is easy or convenient, but because they care. They care about the students, about the school, and about creating something better than what would exist without them.

They are the ones packing up after events when everyone else has gone home. Answering messages late at night. Showing up to one more meeting, one more activity, one more request. Not for recognition, but because they know it matters.

What they do adds up in ways that are not always obvious in the moment. It shows up in a child feeling included. In a parent feeling like they belong. In a school that feels connected instead of disconnected.

Most of this work happens quietly. It is easy to miss just how much is being carried by people who simply decided to get involved and stayed committed.

So this week, it is important to say it clearly. What you do matters. It makes a difference. And it does not go unnoticed, even if it is not always said out loud.

To every H&S volunteer, thank you for the time you give, the energy you bring, and the care you put into your school community.
