We're excited to welcome Nala, a Multi-School Facility Dog in training, to Westmount High School this September!
Over the next few weeks, Nala will be learning how to navigate a busy school environment as she accompanies Ms. Samantha through hallways, classrooms, and common areas. Her home base will be the STEP room, where she can rest and recharge between training sessions.
As adorable as she is, the best way to support Nala is to ignore her while she's working. This helps her stay focused and learn the skills she'll need to be successful in schools.
Don't worry, there will be opportunities to meet Nala! When invited, simply follow Ms. Samantha's greeting instructions and let Nala say hello at her own pace.

💜 A huge thank you to our Parent Participation Organization (PPO) for hosting last night’s Previously Loved Uniform Kiosk (PLUK) sale!

Uniform items sold out very quickly!

👕 Have gently used uniform items at home that your family no longer needs? We are always looking for donations to help keep PLUK stocked for future sales. Donations can be dropped off at the school.

📚 BACK-TO-SCHOOL INFORMATION | WHS 2026–2027 💜

We’re excited to welcome our students back to Westmount High School!

🎒 SECONDARY 1 — SEPTEMBER 1
Secondary 1 students will begin their school year on Tuesday, September 1.

📍 Enter through the main visitor entrance at 4350 Ste-Catherine West
🍎 Bring a snack for the morning
🕦 Dismissal at 11:45 a.m. from the visitor entrance

Parents are asked to drop off their children and not park in the school parking lot, as spaces are reserved for staff.

Please note: Secondary 1 students do NOT have school on September 2.

🏫 SECONDARY 2–5 — SEPTEMBER 2
Secondary 2–5 students will begin on Wednesday, September 2 and should arrive at their designated time.

Students will attend a brief welcome presentation before heading to Homeroom to receive their timetables and other important back-to-school information.

👕 REMINDERS FOR ALL STUDENTS
All students must arrive in full school uniform.

📵 Students who own a cell phone or smartwatch must keep their device at home or in their school-issued Yondr pouch.

What a weekend for WHS athlete Tristan Xavier Chiasson (Sec 4)! 🏃‍♂️⚔️

Representing Westmount High School as the only WHS athlete selected to the GMAA team, Tristan competed at the provincial RSEQ Track & Field Championships in Sherbrooke and delivered outstanding performances against the best athletes in Québec.

Tristan ran an impressive 52.90 in the 400m, earning 9th place in the province, and posted a time of 24.02 in the 200m, tying for 13th in a tightly contested three-way finish. Despite an arm injury that prevented him from competing in javelin, Tristan showed incredible determination throughout the weekend.

He was also selected to run the anchor leg of the 4x400m relay, helping his team finish 11th in Québec with a time of 3:51.75.

Congratulations, Tristan! Your hard work, perseverance, and sportsmanship make the entire WHS community proud.

Today, the WHS community gathered for a special Leadership Assembly in honour of Mr. Kosow as he prepares to retire after 26 years of inspiring generations of students.

For more than two decades, the “Leadership Guru” has been a source of positivity, motivation, and wisdom for over 7,000 WHS students. His lessons went far beyond the classroom. Whether it was making your bed, recognizing your lollipop moments, or finding your broom, Mr. Kosow challenged students to be leaders, to serve others, and to make a difference in the world around them.

The assembly was moving, emotional, and a fitting tribute to a teacher whose impact on our school community is impossible to measure. There were very few dry eyes in the house as students, staff, alumni, and friends reflected on the countless lives he has touched.

Thank you, Mr. Kosow, for your passion, your guidance, and your unwavering belief in the potential of every student who walked through your classroom doors. Your legacy will continue to inspire WHS students for years to come.

✉️🍕 Today, Ms. B’s Grade 7 class celebrated the culmination of their year-long pen pal project in the library!

Throughout the year, students and members of our local community exchanged six letters, building meaningful connections through the art of letter writing. Today, they finally had the opportunity to meet in person, sharing pizza, games, and great conversations.

What a wonderful way to bring together different generations and celebrate the relationships that were formed over the course of the school year. Thank you to Ms. B, Ms. Samantha and everyone who participated and helped make this special project such a success! ✉️❤️🍕

🎮 Yesterday, Ms. Outland and her students enjoyed an incredible visit to the headquarters of Ubisoft in Montreal after winning a special class draw!

Students had the opportunity to learn about the video game industry, explore career opportunities, and ask some excellent questions throughout the tour.

The biggest laugh of the day came when they were asked to place their cell phones in Yondr pouches before the tour began. As a phone-free school, WHS students were already pros!

Thank you to Ubisoft for a wonderful experience and for educating our students with a behind-the-scenes look at one of Montreal’s most innovative industries. 🎮✨
