We’re officially moved! 🎶

After months of planning, renovating, painting, building, and problem-solving, Westmount Music Therapy is now up and running in our new home at 4994 Boul. de Maisonneuve Ouest, Suite 104.

This week we welcomed our first clients into the new space, and it was incredibly special to see the rooms already filling with music, connection, and joy.

I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported this project — through donations, encouragement, advice, and sharing our fundraiser. It truly helped make this move possible.

We still have a few things left to finish — including instruments, equipment, and some final improvements to make the space as supportive and accessible as possible for the children and families we work with.

Subcontract Music Therapist | Weekends Required
Clinical setting • Part-time with room to grow

Westmount Music Therapy is expanding into a brand-new, purpose-built clinic designed for neurodivergent children, teens and adults — and we’re looking for the right person to join our team.

Who You Are:
• Experience working with autistic and neurodivergent youth
• Experience with, and comfortable supporting clients with behavioural challenges
• Able to structure sessions clearly while supporting creativity and autonomy
• Strength-based and client-centered
• Professional, reliable, and collaborative

Position Details:
• Subcontractor role at Westmount clinic
• Weekend availability is required (Saturday or Sunday, both an asset)
• Weekday hours may be available (before/after school)
• 1:1 and small group sessions in a fully equipped, sensory-friendly clinical environment
• Ability to maintain documentation and clear communication with families

Requirements:
• Comfortable working with challenging behaviour
• Experience with the neurodivergent community (in any capacity)
• Formal music therapy training (degree/diploma)
• Background checks completed before start date

We are now five weeks into our renovations at the new Westmount Music Therapy space — and we are so thrilled with the progress!

Here’s what’s been accomplished so far:

✨ We have demolished old walls and opened up the layout
✨ New framing and structure are up for the therapy rooms and office
✨ Serious soundproofing has been installed
✨ We are getting everything ready for the new accessible bathroom, rough ins go in next week!
✨ Planning is underway for expanding our accessible instrument library, so every child can participate fully in music-making
✨ We are designing a quiet sensory room — a safe space for kids who need a break to regulate their bodies and emotions

None of this would be possible without your love and support. Truly. We feel so encouraged knowing our community believes in this work and the kids we serve.

There’s still a long road ahead — flooring, the accessible bathroom build, ceiling work, paint, lighting, and furnishing — but every day we get closer to opening a space that reflects the joy, inclusion, and creativity of our clients and families.

We’ve officially secured our new space — just a few blocks away, and we couldn’t be more excited to build a beautiful, accessible home for our community! 🎶✨

The space is still bare bones, and we have 6 months to make it perfect — soundproof rooms, sensory spaces, and all the little details that make our work special. 💛

Hey everyone! The time change is particularly hard on people with special needs, but I don’t need to tell you.

The Quebec government has launched a survey on whether we should keep changing the clocks twice a year. Please fill it out and share with everyone you know. Quebec seems to want to be seen as the emo neighbour who has a different time zone than everyone else- so please vote for DST (summer time). We deserve that extra hour of evening.

Our amazing Girlband, Fireball Rainbow, went to their very first stadium concert together!! They saw on the first leg of her tour, and they had the best time ever!!! Thank you to .dallaire.90 for making this dream come true… it was an absolute honour to witness the unbridled joy on their faces!!!
