Westlock COPA For Kids / Discover Aviation

Thanks so much for everyone who was involved in the Westlock Flying Club's Discover Aviation event this past Saturday! It takes a huge and supportive community to make an event like this such a great success - nine incredible pilots as well as around 20 ground volunteers all came together to give 159 kids the experience of flying in a small aircraft. And thanks to our incredible sponsors, everything (including lunch) was absolutely free! For many kids, this was the first flight of their lives, and something they will always remember. I'm honoured to be a part of such an incredibly giving community!

Hi everyone! We are happy to announce that registrations are now open for our Discover Aviation event at Westlock, which will be held on April 26, 2025. Thanks to everyone who came out yesterday for our COPA for Kids event! Overall, we took 144 kids up one 48 flights throughout the day, and it looks like everyone had a great time! If you participated, check your email for a link I sent to a Google photo album of hundreds of pictures we took!

Well, we hit our cap of 150 kids, so we are now processing kids for our standby list instead of registering them outright. But if you know of a child who would really like the experience of going for a free flight, don't let that discourage you - we do get cancellations, and so at least for the short term, there is still a fairly good chance that if you sign up on standby we will be able to accommodate you. Remember, it's "first come first served", so get on the standby list as soon as possible if you're interested!

We have had a big surge of registrations today - so much so that we will likely hit our cap of 150 kids shortly. When that happens (probably later today), we will have to close registrations.
