Kinley put in the effort on her recital piece today! Chompin (a distant cousin of Chopin) helped her practice those tough spots to perfection! Who says practicing can’t be fun?!

Here’s a throwback to our Children’s Choir getting ready before their performance ! We had a fun term with all of these wonderful, enthusiastic singers. We love watching their confidence grow each week. All who wanted had an opportunity to learn a solo and we even challenged them to learn songs in other languages this term! Don’t forget we have a fun summer camp running this year for those who enjoy singing or want to explore it more! And of course, our choir will start up again for the fall semester!

We are so proud of the many talents our students have and the hard work and dedication they have to mastering new skills!

We are proud to be a sponsor for the upcoming Spring Fling at the Mt. Boucherie Skating Club ! If you want to see some talented young athletes show off their technical skill and artistry, this is an event not to be missed!

We had some special little visitors last week! One of our students brought in their new little baby bunnies to share with the teachers and other students. We didn’t get quite as much playing done but the cuteness meter was off the charts!

What makes you excited about teaching at WKMS?
Muireann: “It’s a beautiful studio! I also have great respect for my colleagues, and I’ve had students come from farther south like Peachland or even Penticton. I love teaching and I want more students to have access to lessons!”

What would you tell someone who is interested in lessons but who hasn’t taken the plunge yet?
Muireann: “Give it a try! The world of music opens so many possibilities — if it’s calling to you, there’s a reason for that.”

What is your favourite thing about being a musician?
Muireann: “One word: Connection. Music has power to connect people to their memories, their cultures and one another. It’s like magic.”
