Dundarave Preschool by the Sea has been operating at the Dundarave Fieldhouse site on a non-profit basis since it opened in 1949, at which time it was known as Hollyburn Playschool. Fifty plus years later, the building has retained its historical charm and quaint atmosphere. Through our play-based program, preschool-aged children are given the opportunity to develop their social, emotional, physic

al and intellectual selves in a safe and caring child-centered environment. We encourage self-esteem and independence and a love of the outdoors. The children are in an environment where tolerance, respect and consideration are given to all.

The annual Halloween family pumpkin carving event is always a great event at the preschool. Thanks to Dundarave Market Place IGA for donating the pumpkins.

It seems like just yesterday we were saying farewell to our Fours Class yet now we are only a couple weeks away from welcoming our students back!

We can’t wait to see you all for more seaside adventures and don’t forgot we still have a few spots left for those interested in Dundarave Preschool!

While many of you may have received this information already, we want to make sure everyone is aware that Dundarave Preschool By The Sea has been approved to participate in the Child Care Fee Reduction
Initiative (CCFRI) to reduce parent fees.

Parent fee reduction amounts that Dundarave Preschool By The Sea will receive are prescribed by the
Ministry of Education and Child Care and are based on type of care.

The maximum amount Dundarave
Preschool By The Sea will receive to reduce parent fees for Preschool, per child, are listed below.

• $76/month – Group care for Preschool children

The CCFRI Estimator is an online tool available to help families estimate their child care savings.

Some benefits you may not have thought about when packing your child’s snack for preschool…

Did you know having a snack with friends in an unstructured way allows for natural conversations to occur between the children? This time also creates a little sense of community as they sit together and enjoy their crackers, granola bars, apples, grapes, and everything else thoughtfully packed by Mom and Dad!

Beyond that it gives the kids an opportunity to talk about food which is known to create healthy eating habits and, of course, these snacks keep their energy levels up which is extremely important when you are as busy as they are!
