Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal skills
Organized, positive and energetic
Ability to handle high stress situations and manage them effectively
Valid Childcare First-Aid/CPR certificate
Criminal Record Clearance, childcare specific
An Early Childhood Educator license to practice from the ECEBC Registry
Knowledge of Vancouver Coastal Health’s Licensing Regulations Act
Understanding of the BC Code of Ethics
Three references, one personal, two work related
Proof of immunizations or an objection letter
Doctor’s clearance letter of good health including physical, mental and emotional stability

Position Requirements:
Fluent in English
Be flexible in job duties
Display enthusiasm when teaching children
Guidance and Caring experience
Seek partnership with parents, as well as team members
Plan and implement programming that reflects and is not limited to all aspects of learning including circle time, math, socials, science, fine and gross motor skills, music and movement and language development
Set out provocations to encourage purposeful play
Encourage self-help skills as well as facilitate problem solving techniques and respectful mannerisms
Observe and bring to the attention of the manager any developmental concerns among children in their class to provide early intervention techniques and strategies
Have knowledge of licensing regulations and implementation
Benefits & Compensation:
$20 - $25 per hour depending on experience
More Details:
Shifts are fixed between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:30 pm.
Shifts can be adjusted for appointments when necessary.
Full-time position: 37 - 40 hours per week
