We are a few days away from National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (September 30) and Orange Shirt Day. In honour of this national holiday and all residential school survivors, we have a Fall cohort starting on September 30 of our signature course, "Canadian History Through An Indigenous Women's Lens"

There are many amazing learning courses out there now. However, Deyen is one of the original online learning platforms and likely one of the only that centres the knowledge, wisdom, and lived experience of Indigenous women. It's an incredible course and encourage all to sign up! If you've already taken this course, please encourage your friends, family, and colleagues to do so. Or better yet, gift it to them for NDTR!

Sign up now at: deyen.ca

Look forward to having some of you with us this Fall ! πŸ§‘πŸ™ŒπŸ½πŸ™πŸ½πŸŒŸπŸ§‘

Why an online course?

We love to connect in person, but an online course has benefits too, like...

πŸ’œ digital media allows us to learn from video, audio, and text
πŸ’œ material is there when you’re able to learn, at home or at work
πŸ’œ pacing can vary as you process truths
πŸ’œ discussion groups can be held even when we live far apart
πŸ’œ we can reach as many people as possible

Janis Brooks (she/her) is of Sto:lo ancestry on her maternal side, and of mixed European ancestry on her paternal side.

Janis has worked in Indigenous engagement and consultation for 18 years, which has given her the opportunity to learn from and work with over 200 Indigenous Nations across Turtle Island. She currently lives in Nanaimo with her husband, daughter, and two dogs.

Bringing a blended identity and unique lived experience to her work, Janis now helps clients look at opportunities for reconciliation, indigenization, and decolonization with a focus on creating inclusive and culturally responsive environments, processes, and programs.

We're so excited to have Janis speak about heart-centered leadership at our upcoming virtual event!

Does heart-centered leadership and learning from Indigenous women resonate with you? There's still time to join us! Grab your free event registration here: https://linktr.ee/deyen.transform πŸ’œ
