Colin Piano Tuning and Repair

Unfortunately because of Covid 19 the out door public use piano is all covered up and can not be used at the moment.

This is a picture of the out door piano in West Kelowna

West Kelowna Acadamy of Music, Greater Westside Board of Trade and McCann Piano Service came together to provide a piano for the use of the public. It sits on the front deck of the Westside Board of Trade building just in front of the West Kelowna Acadamy of music at 2372 Dobbin rd. Feel free to stop in and play your favorite song.

My piano teacher and friend Elizabeth Wocks gave me a commemorative plate with this picture on it in memory of my dad. She played french horn with his in the city band. Thanks Elizabeth. This even looks like dad.

My Father Steve McCann passed away one year ago. He was a well respected piano technician whom work throughout the Okanagan from 1971 until very close to his death at 92 years old. He is the reason Deborah and I are piano technicians. I say a quiet "Thank You" to him every day for the patients and understanding he had while teaching me the skills I would use to earn my living. Here is a picture of dad tuning is mothers old piano on his 80th birthday with his brother Richard McCann (also a piano technician) looking on.

Tuned one of these last week. It has a steel pin plank with tapered tuning pins. The pedals are made from iron wood.

As I am not tuning pianos at this time, I have been learning how to use facebook for business. Please be patient. My real expertise is working on instruments that have not changed in design in over 100 years.
