We chase what’s new.
Every day, AI makes it easier to believe that only the newest is the best — and that anything old is outdated, something to replace and throw away.
Lately, I feel we’re starting to treat people the same way. And that makes me a little sad.
There’s a saying passed down in Africa:
“When an elder dies, a library burns.”
Some social psychologists say that if you want to know whether a community is a good one, look at its grandmothers. How well they are living tells you the true quality of that place.
We live in a world moving faster than ever. Everything fits in the palm of our hand, scanned in 10 or 20 seconds. Deep thinking is fading, and we’re drifting into a strange world soaked in dopamine.
At Master Nam’s Taekwondo, we choose a different path.
We honour our elders.
We don’t look away from those who need support in our community.
Last Saturday, our students proudly joined The Grand Parade, hosted by Happy in My Home – Community Services of Niagara Region, walking side by side with the seniors of our community. Events like this give our children something to be proud of — education through action, not just words.
Thank you, Happy in My Home, for bringing our community together. 🙏
As we always say:
Don’t just be a champion in the ring.
Be a Champion in Life. 🥋
