Our preschool children brought a little springtime magic to the snow today ๐ธโ๏ธ Using colourful plastic flowers, they added a bright pop of colour to the wintery landscape and stacked them high with care and teamwork. Children shared ideas, helped one another, and proudly admired their creations, turning the snowy day into a joyful, creative experience filled with cooperation, imagination, and lots of smiles.

โ๏ธ๐จA splash of Colour in the Snow๐จโ๏ธ
Preschoolers took our painting outside this week and set up snow and ice in the tuff tray for the children to explore. Using brushes and watered-down paint, they added pops of colour to the white snow and were excited to see what happened when colours mixed together. They also noticed how the paint moved and changed when it touched the snow and icy water, which led to lots of curiosity and conversation.
The mild weather meant we didnโt need gloves, giving the children a chance to explore the snow and ice with their hands.
They noticed how it felt smooth, slippery, cold, and hard, and enjoyed scooping, touching, and painting as they explored.
The children worked side by side, shared brushes and colours, and talked about what they were doing. This experience supported creativity, hand strength, and early problem-solving, while also encouraging cooperation, expression, and a sense of belonging as we enjoyed learning together outdoors.

Sassy spiders loved decorating our class
Christmas tree this week! As we added ornaments and lights, the children shared little stories from home-who decorates their tree, what special ornaments they have, and the traditions their families enjoy. It was a beautiful way to build a sense of belonging in our classroom, as everyoneโs experiences and celebrations came together to make our tree uniquely ours. The excitement, giggles, and pride on their faces made the moment extra magical!

This week Sassy Spiders set up a โhot chocolate cafeโ sensory bin. Using beans as the hot cocoa and pom Poms for marshmallows, the sassy spiders scooped, poured and mixed like little baristas.

They loved filling the paper cups, snapping on lids and stirring up their creations. Such a fun and cozy activity for them to practice fine motor skills, creativity and pretend play. Lots of giggles, lots of โordersโ and lots of marshmallows

๐ฆโ๏ธ Rainy Day Fun! โ๏ธ๐ฆ
We didnโt let a little rain stop our play today โ we embraced the puddles! The children ran, jumped, and splashed, building balance, coordination, and confidence with every stomp. Slippery puddles make great risky play practice!
We scooped, poured, and explored the water, strengthening fine motor skills and discovering what happens when we splash just right! When the rain got heavier, we used problem solving skills to stay dry โ finding shelter under trees ๐ณ or running into the playhouse ๐ .
It was cold, wet, and filled with laughter and good spirits. These rainy day adventures build resilience, curiosity, and a joy for exploring nature โ rain or shine. ๐๐ง๏ธ
