Today, the federal government announced a new investment of up to $5.4 billion over the next two years (2026โ€“2028) to continue strengthening the Canada-wide early learning and child care system.
This additional funding is a crucial step forward, aimed at:
โ€ข Keeping child care affordable for families.
โ€ข Providing stability for the sector while federal, provincial, and territorial governments work on long-term, sustainable solutions.
At the Canadian Child Care Federation, we welcome this continued commitment to building an affordable, inclusive, high-quality system that allows children to thrive and helps families manage economic pressures.
