Meet Neomi Qubti (on the left) π Neomi completed her placement with us through the Wilfrid Laurier University Psychology program. She has been working alongside our engagement coordinator, Meghan, learning all about hosting community groups and the importance of volunteers.
"Through this placement, I've become more confident with public speaking, leading groups, and answering questions on the spot. Overall, this experience has helped me build confidence and understand the impact that community support can have."

After graduating from , Kamil Ahmed started the Kitchener Community Fridge β located outside the Kitchener Market. Run completely by community members, the fridge consists of freshly donated foods anyone can take for free and is designed to facilitate access to food, reduce food waste, and foster community engagement.

A tiny table of food donations grew into 'Distro' β and now feeds 125 Waterloo university students each week | CBC News
A weekly event called Distro is connecting students on the Waterloo campus of Wilfrid Laurier University with food. The welcoming β and welcomed β space was born out of the pandemic and the growing realization that some students were struggling during the first wave of provincial lockdowns.
