As we observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we recognize the importance of supporting meaningful and lasting actions that advance reconciliation.
At the University of Waterloo, Kiinomaage-Aki (Land of Knowledge) is taking shape as a land-based learning, discovery and ceremonial space where Indigenous knowledge, teachings and traditions can flourish. Guided by Elders, Knowledge Keepers, students and community members, the project reflects a shared commitment to creating opportunities for learning, connection and understanding through direct engagement with the land.
Supported by donor generosity, Kiinomaage-Aki will provide spaces for ceremony, storytelling, teaching and community gathering, helping to foster relationships and deepen understanding for generations of students to come.
