The Waterloo Centre for German Studies is proud to be supporting a symposium hosted by UW’s Institute for Hellenistic Studies on the reciprocal relationship between antiquity and German culture. German scholars helped transform Classical Studies, in the process establishing several modern humanities disciplines and at the same reinforcing the cultural influence of Greece and Rome in German-speaking societies.
