Skills Ontario is thrilled to be one of the recipients of the Skills Development Fund to help launch our new program, Trade Up Move Up!
This program will help support 250 individuals looking to enter the skilled trades. Participants in this program will receive training, employment, and wrap around support from case workers.
More details about this program will be available on our website over the next few weeks. In the meantime, check out our news release to learn more!

Check out these photos of young people participating in a community build event with the Skills Ontario First Nations, Metis & Inuit Program!
Today, school aged youth built garden boxes while learning the carpentry trade, including learning about career pathways and opportunities to join the Carpenters Union.
Following the build, youth planted lettuce in these garden boxes to also learn about careers in landscaping and horticulture from Premier Landscaping. Some of the garden boxes put together today will be donated to Ojibway Park!
Thank you to Premier Landscaping, the Carpenters Union, and Garden River First Nation Education Department, & Skilled Trades Ontario for supporting this event.

Each year, this scholarship is awarded to students on their way to post-secondary education to pursue a career in the skilled trades and technologies. Youth can receive $1000 from Skills Ontario! 💰🛠️
