Some of our older elementary school students took part in a CASSO Soccer Tournament yesterday with several other schools. After finishing second in the round robin, they ended up losing in the semifinals and finished 4th. We are proud of how they competed!

Introducing our new KAA sports logo! From the shield to the helmet to the warrior pose, the design takes into consideration that King Alfred became known as the "King of the Anglo-Saxons" after he drove the Vikings out of London. Stay tuned for new sports jerseys & swag to come!

Last night was our 5th annual Vision Night at King Alfred Academy. Our headmaster, Randy Frey, reminded us of why the school is named after King Alfred, reviewed some highlights and academic accomplishments from the previous school year, and explained the portrait of a KAA graduate, describing the kind of graduates that we hope to produce. After that, one of our teachers, Neil Brunet, led us all in an interactive history lesson through a part of the "History of the Peloponnesian War" by Thucydides. It was a wonderful time together and we praise God for how he is at work in the school. All glory to him!

A new school year means that a new group of boys have to learn how to tie a tie on chapel days (Grade 5 and up). So Pastor Frey led a quick how-to workshop after chapel this morning!

We had a great time at our annual kick off BBQ today. Praise God for good weather, great food, and sweet fellowship together. We are excited and expectant for the year ahead!

We invite everyone—parents, church members, and anyone else curious about our community—to come and hear the heart, mission, and future direction driving our school.

Public schools spend countless hours teaching how to test. Classical Christian schools spend years teaching how to think. The result? According to a 2020 study, CCE students outscore public school student averages by 20-25% on standardized tests and are 2-4 grades ahead in reading and math.

Our annual tradition here at KAA on the first day of school is to have the students along with the teachers from our logic and rhetoric schools (Gr. 7-8 & 9-12) dine and converse together at a long banquet table to kick off the school year! It's a time to get to know one another, celebrate God's goodness and grace, and start things off with a joyful feast.

"So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." - 1 Cor. 10:31
