Have you ever had to present your ideas to an audience – even an audience of one? We all have, from professional presentations to conversations with family members. And for all of us who have wished we had used better words or a better approach, Toastmasters is for us. Toastmasters will give you the skills and confidence you need to effectively express yourself in any situation. Toastmasters is the most efficient, enjoyable and affordable way of gaining great communication and leadership skills.
1st Waterdown Toastmasters meet weekly on Tuesdays from 7:30 to 9:30 PM. Members and guests practice and learn skills by filling a meeting role, ranging from giving a prepared speech or an impromptu one to serving as timer, evaluator or grammarian. There is no instructor; instead, each speech and meeting is critiqued by a member in a positive manner, focusing on what was done right and what could be improved. And, while we’re serious about improving our skills, we are also known for the fun we have while doing it.
