The philosophy which my business is based on is unique in itself because it is capable of standing up effectively in today’s particular atmosphere of the education system. Since few people seem to be aware of the severe shortcomings of our education system which fails many students in the field of literacy, I feel that I have an edge over other tutoring services. Many students all the way up to university level, experience basic literacy shortcomings which affect them in their everyday lives and the fashion in which they are capable of functioning at their jobs. Students, who otherwise are talented and possess great potential, become hopeless, frustrated and lost. All too often, the system transfers the blame on the students, themselves, claiming that they are innately academically incapable. Inevitably, it follows that the student suffers with low self-esteem from the academic aspect beginning at the elementary level and so on throughout their lives, because this is what they have been told and made to believe. With a quality phonics programme, solutions to many or all of these issues can be found.
